Shadrach (1756-1820) had a son also named Shadrach (1794-1846). Researchers often get the two men confused. The son became an itinerant Methodist minister. The United Methodist Archives Center at Ohio Wesleyan University has records of his circuits from 1814 until his retirement due to illness in 1837. In 1837 or 1838 he founded the town of Calhoun, Illinois one of the oldest villages in Richland County and not far from his siblings in Lawrence County.
