*1934 Oct 20 obituary, Perthshire Advertiser (newspaper), Perth, Tayside. Alyth. Sudden Death, Mr. Alex. K. Guthrie, St. Ann, Muthill Road, passed away suddenly on Wednesday. Recently he underwent an operation for throat trouble, but was able to go about, and attended Alyth Nursing Home for dressing. On Wednesday he suddenly collapsed when rising and did not regain consciousness. Mr. Guthrie was a well-known person in Alyth, being for many years chief clerk with Messrs Japp & Yeaman, bankers and solicitors. For a considerable period, he was associated with Mr. John Reid, late town clerk, but owing to the condition of his health he retired. Mr. Guthrie will be much missed by his sister, Miss Annie Guthrie, with whom he resided.
