The Cemeterist Project's Elements Cooperative (Co-op) is a collaborative group made up of Ground Opertions and Data Operations. These functional duties work together by completing specific steps in the cemetery documentation process, and provides a way to contribute to the Project for those who want to focus only on one specific element of cemetery documentation rather than the whole documentation process from start to finish. The two operations work with each other, passing on work from Ground Operations to the Data Operations, to reach the final goal of fully documenting cemeteries and sourced WikiTree profiles. ==Cemetery Images for Transcription== Please leave a comment on this page to 'check out' a batch of images that do not yet have a Transcriber listed. Include the Batch # in your request, and don't forget to update us when you are done so we can remove the batch info from the page! All photos provided on this page include a reference to the Photographer. When working with these images you must credit the Photographer with a source statement!

Ground Operations are part of the Cemeterist Project Elements Co-op. The focus is exclusively on visiting cemeteries, photographing the graves, and then uploading the images to WikiTree (or another image hosting service like Google Drive) for the Cemeterist Project Data Team. Ground Operations members serve in the initial stage of the cemeteries documentation process. By taking photos and providing the images to the Cemeterist Project for transcription, they contribute a vital piece in the Cemeteries puzzle and help to provide an important service for anyone who may be searching for their ancestors and their final resting places. #Visit a cemetery! Bring along a camera and photograph the graves. #*Many members will use digital cameras for this task; however, cell phone cameras may be also be used. #*Ensure you that you are using an image resolution at or above 1024 ⨯ 768, as this will provide the best results for grave images being uploaded to the web. Hint: most modern smartphones provide well over 1024 ⨯ 768 resolution

#Create a new Free-space page (FSP) to hold your images: #*If you have 10 or less images to add, you can name the FSP something simple, (e.g., "Cemetery Name Images") (go to step 3) #*If you have more than 10 images to add, you may consider using a hosting option such as Google Drive (free) to hold the images and then link to the folder. (go to step 3)

#Submit the FSP / Google Drive link to the Cemeterist Project Elements Cooperative page by adding a comment on the page. (return to step 1)

Back to Cemeterist Project
One of the goals of the Cemeterist Project is to document the final resting place of our ancestors by placing cemetery categories on ancestor profiles. All profiles and cemetery free space pages should be categorized as part of the overall category structure for the project. The overall structure looks something like this: *Cemeteries **North America, Cemeteries continent ***United States, Cemeteries country ****Texas, Cemeteries state/province/region/county(UK) *****Harris County, Texas, Cemeteries county(US)/parish/locality(AU) ******Sterling-White Cemetery, Highlands, Texas cemetery name, location This guide is designed to help you create a new cemetery category in a few simple steps, but feel free to post a comment below if you have any specific questions. If you are not confident about creating a new category, click the "request a new category or advice" link that you will see next to the Edit Text box on the edit page of any profile. It's better to start a conversation with the Categorization Project and other advanced members than trying to do things alone. ==Research First!== Cemetery naming is a very important step in creating a new category! First, you want to find the current official name for the cemetery. This is the name that is shown on the cemetery website (if one is available), the cemetery signage located on the grounds (most common), or on locally registered historical societies (e.g., State Name> Historical Society in the United States or Local History Society in England). If you are not sure where to look for official cemetery names, or are struggling with a particular cemetery, ask for assistance in G2G using the tag Cemeteries or you can check with other project members working in your area. Next, you will want to find the exact location of the cemetery in , or , format. The , format is applicable to cemeteries that are situated outside of City/Town boundaries or are situated in an unincorporated area of a County/Parish. This can be tricky for localities you are not intimately familiar with since many cemeteries will list their management address instead of their physical location. This is another area in which locally registered historical societies can be of great assistance. ==Add the New Category== Once you have established the correct cemetery name and location, the next step is to create the category page. This can be done in a few different ways; however, the easiest way is to add the category tag to a qualified profile above the ==Biography== header, in the format:

or

As an example, a new category for the fictional cemetery for Harry Potter’s parents could be as follows:

==Create the Category Content== Once you have added the category tag to a profile and saved the record, you will receive a warning that the category does not yet exist. Not to worry, we are going to add it! Go ahead and click 'Save Anyway', then go back to the profile view and scroll down to the Category links at the bottom of the page (or use the Category button to jump to the links). The category name should be displayed in red. Click on this link to open the category page. On the new category page, we will add the CategoryInfoBox Cemetery template that helps us document all of the relevant/needed details of the cemetery. For example:
{| border="1" style="float:none; clear:right; display: inline-block; align-items: center; margin:4px 4px 4px 20px; border-style: solid; border-width: 1px; border-color: #ccc; box-shadow: 1px 1px 2px #888888;" !|Name:||width="500px"|Sterling-White Cemetery

In order to apply this template, you can copy/paste this code below and fill out the parameters as described :

:
Note: For additional parameters that are available, see the full documentation on Template:CategoryInfoBox Cemetery.
Once the CategoryInfoBox Cemetery template is added, click save. Your cemetery category is now created and ready for use! If you are adding a cemetery Free-space page, see Space:Cemetery Pages for guidance.

Back to Cemeterist Project
One of the goals of the Cemeterist Project is to have a free space page created for every cemetery across the world. These are linked to the specific cemetery categories where profiles can be found, and help to document the rich history (and interesting notes) about these cemeteries. Each page should strive to have a photograph of the cemetery entrance, the address of the cemetery, GPS coordinates if known, the approximate number of graves (if known), the date range of the graves (earliest known burial), notable people buried in the cemetery (with links to their profiles). These pages should also be categorized to their applicable cemetery category and location category. Note: These pages should not contain photographs of every single grave as these photographs should be on the profiles of the individuals themselves. For examples of how Cemetery pages should be ideally formatted, see: Sterling-White Cemetery, Highlands, Texas and :Category: Cemeterist Project Example Pages. If you need to create a new free-space page for a cemetery: *go to the Add/New Thing option under the 'Add' Menu in the toolbar. *add the name of the cemetery (and location) in the Title field. This name should match the category! *add the cemeteries tag, as well as any county, state, province, or territory tags (as applicable) to the Surnames/tags field. *if there is a known range of burials, you can add this information to the Start and End date fields. If burials are still allowed, please do not add a End date! If this information is not known, please leave them blank! ==Example Cemetery Page Template==
==General Information== Cemetery name: Address: GPS Coordinates: ==History== Use this area to document a history/description of the cemetery. ==Notable Monuments== This section is optional. Are there any notable monuments located at the cemetery? ==Notable Interments== This section is optional. Are there any notable interments located at the cemetery? War heroes? Political figures? Even local historical figures count in this area (location namesakes, etc.). This section should contain no more than 5-6 profile links. If you need more room, why not start a new Free-space page for the notable interments and just provide a general description of the types of notables one may find buried here? ==More Information== This should be a bulleted list of links/resources for the cemetery itself, such as the cemetery category where profiles are attached, the cemetery's website (if available), a link to the FindAGrave cemetery page, a Wikipedia entry for the cemetery?

Welcome to the Cemetery TRACKS program - where The Right Approach Creates Knowledge and Success! This page was created in order to assist new members (Trackers) of the Cemeterist Project to familiarize themselves with the scope of the project and learn the processes and steps required to become an advanced WikiTree cemeterist. Using a series of tutorials, combined with the assistance of a Caretaker, Trackers will navigate through the Cemetery TRACKS program and learn how to do the various processes used by cemeterists here on WikiTree, such as taking gravestone photos, adding photos to profiles, adding transcriptions, citing cemetery photos, sourcing supporting information (i.e., Birth, Marriage, Census, and Death records), properly categorizing cemeteries, creating cemetery free-space pages. Caretakers: Steve Harris ==What is a Caretaker?== A Caretaker is the person who will be working with you during your journey through the TRACKS program. Caretakers are experienced cemeterists or TRACKS graduates, and we are here to guide you, teach you, and generally help you along through your cemetery documentation journey. We are available to answer any questions you may have, or help with any problems you may encounter along the way. ==The Process== * Upon joining the project, or for current project members by request, you will be assigned a Caretaker to guide you through the TRACKS program. **Once your Caretaker is assigned, they will reach out to you and help setup your Tracker Sandbox where you can take your notes or record the output of certain process steps during this program. **If you do not yet have your own cemetery images to work from, please check with your Caretaker! The program is best when worked from start to finish with a specific cemetery and images of gravestones from that cemetery. Your Caretaker can provide images and cemetery information to you as needed to assist in this program's process. * You will work your way through each step, completing a series of tasks, working through as many repetitions of each task as needed until you and your Caretaker are comfortable in your abilities. You should only move to the next step in the process after receiving the OK from your Caretaker. * Upon graduation from the program, you will be eligible for a Project Badge and will be ready to head off on your own cemetery journey in your local area. * Those who complete the program, and would like to apply to become a Caretaker in order to help others through their cemetery journey should message Steve Harris. ==TRACKS Program Processes== # Cemetery Categories # Cemetery Free-Space Pages # Profiles, Transcriptions, and Citations # Supporting Sources

The first step in the TRACKS program is to find and update, or create, a cemetery category for the cemetery we will be working in. __TOC__ ==Background== Cemetery Categories serve as the page that group all of the profiles identified within a cemetery, and is generally where other researchers will run across your profiles and pages. This cemetery page can also serve as the roster for profile progress as you work through your transcriptions. All profiles and cemetery free-space pages should be categorized as part of the overall category structure for the project. That overall structure looks something like this: *Cemeteries **North America, Cemeteries continent ***United States, Cemeteries country ****Texas, Cemeteries state/province/region *****Harris County, Texas, Cemeteries county/parish ******Lynch Cemetery, Crosby, Texas cemetery name, location ==Task 1 - Cemetery Name== Find the current official name for the cemetery. This is the name that is shown on the cemetery website (if one is available), the cemetery signage located on the grounds (most common), or as named through locally registered historical societies (try looking for Historical Society in the United States or Local History Society in England for example). Document the Cemetery Name in your Tracker Sandbox. For example: :
Cemetery Name: Lynch Cemetery
---- ==Task 2 - Cemetery Location== Once you have found the current official name for the cemetery, you then have to identify the proper location of the cemetery. The Category name will be created in , or , format (the , format is applicable to cemeteries that are situated outside of City/Town boundaries or are situated in an unincorporated area of a County/Parish). Document the Cemetery Location in your Tracker Sandbox. For example: :
Cemetery Name: Lynch Cemetery
Cemetery Location: Crosby, Texas
---- ==Task 3 - Category Name== Now that you have identified both the current official name and the proper location of the cemetery, you can put it all together and create our category, in the format: :CEMETERY NAME, CITY/TOWN, STATE or :CEMETERY NAME, COUNTY/PARISH, STATE Document the Category Name in your Tracker Sandbox. For example: :
Cemetery Name: Lynch Cemetery
Cemetery Location: Crosby, Texas
Category Name: Lynch Cemetery, Crosby, Texas
' ---- ==Task 4 - Creating the Category== Once you receive approval from the Caretaker, you can now create this category by copying the Category Name we entered earlier, and placing this within category brackets, in the format: : or : On your tracker sandbox, add the Category Name in brackets and then save the page. For example: :
Cemetery Name: Lynch Cemetery
Cemetery Location: Crosby, Harris County, Texas
Category Name: Lynch Cemetery, Crosby, Texas
'
When viewing your page, you should now see a Category Link at the very bottom of the page, shown in red. Clicking on this link will take us to the Category Creation page. ---- ==Task 5 - CategoryInfoBox Cemetery== Now that you have your new category page open, you can add our known cemetery information. The preferred text on a cemetery category is provided by the CategoryInfoBox Cemetery template. In order to keep things simple, we only require 3 to 4 parameters for this template; however, when more information is known, you should fill out as many parameters as possible. You can add this template using the format (feel free to copy and paste this code): : The |name= and |location= parameters should be self-explanatory, since you already identified these in your Tracker Sandbox. Just copy and paste that information to the template! :

The |parent= parameter is the name of the COUNTY/PARISH in which the CITY/TOWN is located. For example, Lynch Cemetery is located within the town of Crosby, and Crosby is located within Harris County, Texas: :

Last, but certainly not least, We can start the Cemetery Free-Space Page. To do this, you enter in the exact same name as the category name, in the format: :CEMETERY NAME, CITY/TOWN, STATE or :CEMETERY NAME, COUNTY/PARISH, STATE :

Now that our CategoryInfoBox Cemetery template is filled in, all you have to do is click the Save button! ' Up Next ➝: Supporting Sources

The second step in the TRACKS program is to find and update, or create, a cemetery free-space page for the cemetery we will be working in. The good news, is that this Cemetery Page is already waiting for you! When you created your Cemetery Category in Step 1 of the program, you were asked to enter in the |spacepage= parameter. This link, as you may have noticed, was most likely Red, meaning it did not yet exist. Clicking on this link now, you will be taken to a page that is already named and ready for creation! If instead this page already exists, consult with your Caretaker to make sure the page is updated in accordance with this page. __TOC__ ==Background== This Cemetery Free-Space Page will serve as a sort of Cemetery Profile, where we can provide all of the information on the cemetery grounds itself, such as the location, history, notable burials and features, etc. This page is the space for you to really tell the world about this cemetery, its history, who is a part of its overall story, and any interesting bits of information you feel a researcher may like to know. The best cemetery pages will have tons of useful and interesting information on them, such as photos (especially those of the cemetery entrance, maps, plot layouts, or general photos of the grounds), as well as external links to other resources (FindAGrave, BillionGraves, and/or Wikipedia entries; the cemetery website; etc.). ==Task 1 - Cemetery Page Layout== The preferred overall layout for all Cemetery Free-Space Pages is through a series of pre-defined section headers. If a particular section below is not applicable, feel free to omit that section; however, all pages should use the ==General Information==, ==History==, and ==More Information== sections at a minimum. Feel free to copy and paste the below template:
General Information
Cemetery name: ; (also known as '
Address:

GPS Coordinates:

History
add history of the cemetery here

Notable Monuments
add any notable features or monuments at the cemetery here

Notable Interments
add any notable burials or interments here

More Information
*See the Cemetery category for profiles of those who have been documented at this cemetery.
*[ ]
*[ ]
*[ ]
---- ==Task 2 - Cemetery Information== After you have pasted the template from Task 1 above, it is your time to shine! Feel free to pay with layout, add additional sections to help tell the cemetety's story, or to better present the information and relevant images. Remember, it is up to you to represent the cemetery! If you would like to see examples of Cemetery Free-Space Pages for ideas and inspiration, see: :Category: Cemeterist Project Example Pages. '

Step Seven in the Cemetery Trail is adding and creating cemetery categories. Finally, we are going to learn how to add a cemetery category info box to our cemetery category. It is the vision of the Global Cemeteries and Categorization Projects that each cemetery category will eventually have a cemetery category info box. This allows us to display important information on each cemetery in an organized and uniform way across the entire project. While not every cemetery will be able to fill all of the parameters we are able to organize all different types of cemeteries in a uniform way. You can take a look at the template with all the parameters and a basic description here. In the YouTube video below you will learn how to add a cemetery category info box to a cemetery category and we will go through a real life example together.

Step Two in the Cemetery Trail is editing your cemetery freespace pages. In the previous lesson we learned how to create a free space page, and now we are going to learn how to do some basic text manipulation within the page and add basic things like links to external websites and other WikiTree profiles. This will give you the tools to personalize your Freespace Page as I discussed in the last lesson. Examples could include: external links, a list of notable burials, history of the cemetery, etc. While there are some guidelines and suggestions as laid out here the content is really up to you. In the YouTube video below we will go through the basics of editing within a Freespace page. All of these principles will apply not only to freespace pages but can be used in WikiTree person profiles as well.

Step Three in the Cemetery Trail is managing transcription data. You went out to the cemetery, you've taken all these photos now what do you do with them? Chances are most of the profiles haven't been created yet and you will want to keep track of your progress. We went over how to create and edit a freespace page in the previous lessons and now we will go through what else we can do with it. Not only does your cemetery freespace page hold any history or interesting content you want to add to it but you can link your sandbox page to it so you and your cemetery team can keep track of what has been completed and what still needs to be done. In the YouTube video below you will learn how to create a sandbox page and a few different ways of organizing it.

---- Welcome to the Cemeterist Project's Getting Started Guide! One of the most common questions we get from new members is, "What exactly am I supposed to do as a Cemeterist?" First things first, it is important to understand why we document cemeteries - Cemeteries are among the most valuable of historic resources. They can serve as reminders of various settlement patterns, or they can reveal information about historic events, religions, lifestyles, and genealogy. Unfortunately, these cemeteries do not necessarily remain permanent reminders of our ancestors and past since they are subject to long-term deterioration, neglect, development activities and construction projects, and even vandalism and theft. Through your membership in the Cemeterist Project, you are pledging to aid in the preservation of the world's cemeteries - serving as guardians of our history and heritage - by documenting cemeteries and gravestones and making that information freely available to the world through the use of high-quality, and sourced, profiles. The good news is, the work of the Cemeterist is pretty simple, and typically involves two key areas: #Ground Work #Data Entry Don't forget to check out the Cemeterist Members page to find other members in your area or Country to collaborate with! ---- ==Ground Work== The first step in photographing cemeteries and gravestones is building your toolkit, which starts before you ever leave home! If you are new to cemetery transcriptions, we suggest that you start as simple as possible. Start out with a notepad (or pre-printed forms), pencils (as many as you can carry!), and of course - your camera (even a modern (2015+) cellphone will work!). If you need assistance, it is always best to reach out to other members who are working in (or familiar with) your area. This will also help with avoiding duplication of work! Notes: *If you plan to visit a managed cemetery (one which has an office or funeral home on site) it is advisable to contact them prior to arrival in order to get a copy of their cemetery policies. *If the cemetery is located on private land, contact the owner for permission to access the cemetery and be respectful of the property! In many rural areas, family cemeteries are located on farms or in pastures, so be sure to close any gates and keep on any dedicated lanes/roads. *If you plan to document an entire cemetery, you should invest the time in creating a map or a spreadsheet that will help in detailing the organization and location of graves. This will help to identify the areas of the cemetery you visit and have taken photographs in, or can help you identify your start and end points for pre-planned visits. While this is useful for larger cemeteries that you only visit from time to time, and will help serve as a way to track your progress, it may not be needed for smaller cemeteries that you can photograph in a day or two. Once you are ready to begin, I suggest starting with a Cemetery Description Page that documents the cemetery name, location (address, GPS coordinates, or relative location [i.e., 240 paces southwest of the ranch home]), general layout and condition, and any historical notes on the property. If you are able, the inclusion of a picture of the cemetery entrance and name, and a map (even hand drawn or captured from Google Earth/Maps) can be of great help. Next, you will want to plan your route through the cemetery. For larger cemeteries, you can work by rows or sections, and for smaller cemeteries with no formal layout, you can work from corner to corner. After you have identified your route, you can begin at your first gravestone. Start by taking a few pictures of the gravestone. Then, using a notepad or Cemetery Log, begin by documenting the information as provided on the gravestone. This will include the Name (Surname and Given Name), Dates (Birth and Death / Age), Locations (if given), and any additional wording provided. You may also wish to document any other notes, such as the condition of the gravestone or any identifying or unusual symbols. Notes: *The number of pictures you take will depend on the type of gravestone you are working with and how comfortable you are with your images. One picture may be sufficient, or you may take multiple photos from different angles, or different sides, in order to make sure you have captured the gravestone well. *It is important to record the information on the gravestone exactly as shown, even if you can immediately identify errors! We will cover errors in gravestones in a later step. ---- ==Data Entry Operations== The next process is usually the longest, yet most rewarding - making the cemeteries and gravestones come alive! Step 1: First we start by finding (or creating) our cemetery category: *If the cemetery category already exists, let make sure it is up to project standards, which means it is named correctly, contains a CategoryInfoBox Cemetery template, and has an accompanying space page. If everything looks good already, proceed to Step 2. *If the the cemetery category does not yet exist, or is not yet up to project standards, follow the steps outlined at: How to Categorize Cemeteries. Once this is complete, we can create the accompanying space page. Step 2 Now, let's create or modify our first profile! Using the Add an Unrelated Person Form, lets type in our known information from the first male gravestone transcription in our Cemetery Log. It is important to choose a male, since females are often listed on their gravestones under their married name, not their last name at birth. As you type in the form, be sure to closely watch the profiles shown in Item #2 of the form in order to compare close matches that may already exist on WikiTree. If a match is displayed, do not create a new profile, instead, select the match and we can work on enhancing that profile (skip to Step 4); otherwise, proceed with Step 3. Step 3: If no close matches are displayed, continue to Item #3 in the form and continue filling out any known information. At a very minimum, provide a short biography based on the known information, in the Notes: section, such as:
was born and passed away . is interred at located in .
:In the Source(s) section, we will cite the cemetery photograph as the source, such as:
Monumental inscription. , . (b. ) , . Photographed by: Name: taken .
:When we save the form, we should now have a profile that will display the basic information we know, such as:
Biography
John Doe was born 12 January 1895 and passed away 15 October 1946. John is interred at Cloverfield Cemetery located in Anytown, State.

Sources
*Monumental Inscription. Cloverfield Cemetery, Anytown, State. 15 October 1946 (b. 12 January 1895) DOE, John. Photographed by: Cemeteries WikiTree: taken 13 February, 2021.
Step 4: The next step is to upload our gravestone photo. Start by navigating to the Images tab on the profile, and select the link Do you have a photo or source image? Click here to upload it. Attach your image, provide a source description (monumental inscription) as we did in Step 3, and save. Step 5: Last, but certainly not least, when working with any profile within the scope of the Cemeterist Project, it is requested that you add relevant categories (Birth and Death Locations) as well as the cemetery category - and also perform a search for Birth, Marriage, Census, or Death records (at a minimum) - this is part of our mission & goals! You can perform free searches on a number of sites, but the most popular site is FamilySearch.org. Based on your research, you can now do one of two things: #If you are able to locate sources for the person, let's fill out that biography and add our sources! If you need assistance, ask the Profile Improvement Project for help! #If you are unable to locate any sources, or have found sources that may or may not be correct, add a Research Notes section to the profile, just above the ==Sources== heading. Detail where you have looked for sources, what you found (or did not find) and any other relevant information for others who may come across the profile; such as possible mistakes on the gravestone (e.g., wrong dates, names, or locations). For examples of profiles we are aiming to create, see: :Category:Cemeterist Project Example Profiles. Once we are done with our first profile, we can move to the next entry in our Cemetery Log! Great Job Cemeterist! Note: If you do not wish to maintain the profile after creating it, please feel free to remove yourself from the profile. Just remember, leave the profile in the best possible manner that you can! ---- ==Example Forms== *Cemetery Description Page *Cemetery Log - Simple (1) *Cemetery Log - Simple (2) *Cemetery Log - Advanced (Coming Soon!)

#REDIRECT Space:Getting_Started_as_a_Cemeterist This page is part of the Global Cemeteries Project. If you are new to trawling through overgrown cemeteries you might be a little bit daunted at the prospect of investigating your neighbourhood graveyard. The work of the Cemeterist is pretty simple, and basically involves four areas. You can get involved in any or all them. Here are a few tips to help get you started: == Photographing Gravestones and Monuments == * Some graves may need a bit of cleaning. Please don't use commercial cleaning agents for this as it could damage the graves. Many Cemeterists just take a squirty bottle of water with them and a soft cloth. It is okay to take a small trowel to remove moss and other dirt, just be very careful when doing so. Some Cemeteries also take secateurs to trim the base of the headstone. * It is not advisable to take rubbings of the graves as this could damage them. * It's a good idea to re-size the image once you have got home. 1024x768 pixels, saved as a .jpeg at 75% quality is a good size to go for. * Take a photo of the entrance to the Cemetery if you can, to help people find it, and also note the address and any important directions. * If possible, find the GPS location for each grave and make a note of it. There are a number of apps for phones that can help with this. * When you have photos to upload to WikiTree, speak to your Team Leader about where to store them until they are ready to be added to a profile or Cemetery Free Space Page. Most teams have a "Progress" page where they track their current work before transferring it to the relevant Cemetery and Profile pages on completion. == Transcribing the Gravestone or Monument == The next step is to transcribe the photographs. Some people do this on site as they are taking the photographs. Others prefer to do it later. You can get involved in any and or stages of this work so don't feel you have to do the transcriptions if you would rather someone else did it. Just ask your Team Leader for help. == Creating/Maintaining Cemetery Free Space Pages == See How to Create a Cemetery Free Space Page for details if you would like to be involved in this side of the project. There should be one Cemetery Free Space page per cemetery. One thing you can contribute is creating a new page for a new cemetery, or updating and maintaining the details of existing cemeteries. == Adding Monumental Sources to profiles == Once the graves have been photographed and transcribed, they are ready to be added to the relevant profile on WikiTree. This involves adding a new profile if necessary, attaching the profile to the relevant photograph, adding the cemetery category to the profile, and adding the correct source to the bottom. The format is as follows: :
Monumental inscription. Country. Cemetery name, place name. Monument death date as inscribed. (b. date as inscribed) LAST NAME inscribed, given name. GPS: DATA HERE. Photographed by: Name: date photo taken.
An example of this for a specific monument: :
Monumental Inscription. England and Wales. St Botolph's Churchyard, Shenley, Hertfordshire. 12 September 1865 (b. 12 January 1814) BATES, Catherine. GPS: DATA HERE. Photographed by: Susie MacLeod: taken 31 December 2018.
Above all else, have fun! And don't be afraid to ask questions in the Google Group. We are all here to help each other.
