I made use of a subscription to Ancestry.com for access to most of the information available on the Internet. This primarily included the U.S. federal censuses through 1940, which is the most recent released to the public the Social Security Death Index, which provides dates of birth and death and last residence of all deceased persons that participated in the Social Security System many state birth, marriage, divorce and death records the U.S. Public Records Index, which contains current and recent addresses, phone numbers, some ages and birth dates and sometimes members of the household and the U.S. Phone and Address Directories, 1993-2002, which contains past addresses and phone numbers and years at that address. For many people I also found records in the Find-A-Grave website (http://www.findagrave.com/), which give information from gravestones plus other information, e.g., maiden name and parents, but usually without identifying the source of such information.
