Pfautz-2 H |
The current descendants from line [[Pfau-49]] have been sourced digitally (census, birth, death, marriage, probate, etc. records) with familysearch.org records and findagrave.com records and a family history book [https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B7XLaI6vpr9OdmFiY05xLV9WQ0E Faw Family History Book (PDF)] when available and are directly available through the profiles. Reviewing the family line [[Pfautz-2]] there appear to be many references to other genealogical websites and databases (no direct link to any sources) as well as a family book. More research (census, birth, death, marriage, probate, etc. records) and verification of the family line descendants from [[Pfautz-2]] using familysearch.org and findagrave.com are needed before determining whether these two families are the same, distinctly different, or a mixture with some false connections possibly on both lines. |

Schneider-123 H |
During a famly trip to Washington in October 2016, I stopped at the location. There were five grave stones lying flat to the earth at the beginning of the driveway to the house. I took photographs, but they did not turn out that well. They are, however, on the Find A Grave website<ref>5 Schneider Graveyard Memorials, records 168042839 and 168043329, 594, 796, and 935, https://www.findagrave.com/cemetery/2620030/memorial-search accessed 14 August 2019</ref>. Unfortunately, there was no grave stones for the Peter or Maria (of the correct timeframe) mentioned in the letter reproduced above. A wikitree search and a greater on-line search did not reveal any clues as to where in the family the members with the headstones fit. I politely enquired of the kind Mennonite residents if they were aware of the history of the property, building, and gravestones, to which they answered in the negative. I took some photographs of the house, which are uploaded on the profile of Johannes' son, Jacob B, and I'll let the reader decide if there is any similarity between the present building and the one in the earlier photographs. | Johannes Hans, Hans Jacob Schneider | certain 13 Jun 1697 uncertain Kennemerland, Holland, Nederland | certain 13 Oct 1763 certain Lancaster County, Pennsylvania | Male | Altschull-1 WikiTree-75 Snyder-11168 |

Although the thought in the 1970-80 period suggested a maiden name of Rollings, the following records clearly discount it. A NC McManus descendant, Robin Hough, in the mid to late 20th century created a family for Lt. Hugh McManus which named 7 daughters and 2 sons and giving Rollings as Mary's maiden name, all without sources. The two sons, however, have been confirmed. There is a James and Mary (Rollings) McManus burial plot [[http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gsr&GSiman=1&GScid=71650&GSfn=&GSln=mcmanus]] at White Plains Bapt. In 1769, John Pierce was one of the Forty Yankees who entered the Wyoming Valley of what would become Luzerne county, Pennsylvania, one of the original formed under the authority of Connecticut and the Susquehanna Land company. <ref> http://www.pagenweb.org/~luzerne/patk/ktwp.htm </ref> John's son is buried in the Forty Fort cemetery, in Luzerne county, Pennsylvania. It is assumed that John, Sr. was buried there, as well. Forty Fort Cemetery was mostly destroyed in the June, 1972 floods that accompanied Hurricane Agnes. Over 2,700 graves were destroyed. Of these, 1410 burial vaults, caskets, and remains were recovered. As a result of the geological damage done to the cemetery, replotting to match original layout was impossible. As a result, a park was built over the area and dedicated to the memory of those whose graves were destroyed. The 1410 recovered burials were reinterred individually at Memorial Shrine Cemetery, about six miles away. <ref> https://www.findagrave.com/cemetery/597682/forty-fort-cemetery#view-photo=9091743 </ref> | John Pierce Sr | certain 10 Feb 1704 certain Plainfield, Windham, Connecticut | Wyoming, Luzerne, Pennsylvania, United States | Male | Shoults-17 |
