Miss Gertrude Hawes, 42, of 1836 Wyandotte St. E., Riverside, died Thursday at Metropolitan Hospital after a short illness. Born at Canso, N.S.. Miss Hawes had lived in the Windsor area for 12 years. She was a member of St. Rose de Lima Church. Survivors include her mother, [[McIsaac-435|Mrs. Eunice Hawes]] of Antigonish, N.S. two brothers, [[Hawes-2415|Kenneth]] and [[Hawes-2416|Ralph]] of Antigonish four sisters, [[Hawes-2413|Mrs. Lester Jackson]] of Halifax, [[Hawes-2406|Mrs. Edna Smith]] of Watertown, Mass., [[Hawes-2412|Mrs. Joseph Gillis]] of Norwood, Mass., and [[Hawes-2417|Mrs. David Brown]] of Riverside.
