Formation: The foundation stone was laid on the 16th April 1903, though there was already a gathered community as from early 1890s. The church consisted mainly of Railway workers by then, with the local branch only consisting of 14 members. And with the help of the Railway workers, the church involved itself in what was then called the Railway Mission, helping with the evangelization of Railway workers who were distant from churches in the country and also those who were in Rhodesia. This was a process that gave birth as a result of the first locomotive that steamed into Bloemfontein on the 10th October 1890.}} 1
